Lori Cohen

Lori Cohen is the owner/president of Compass Quality Solutions and a certified Quality Engineer and Process Improvement Professional (Six Sigma Black Belt) with more than 30 years of experience as a quality practitioner in manufacturing industries both in a Fortune 500 company as well as with small- and mid-sized companies.

In her role as a consultant and mentor she utilizes internationally recognized methods and techniques to provide the best possible solution for her clients' success.  Her extensive knowledge in Quality Management System standards and project management expertise helps organizations achieve and maintain ISO 9001  certification, resulting in improved business performance through increased sales opportunities and measurable savings from process improvements.

As a mentor and instructor she ensures thorough understanding and knowledge transfer of the information and methodology enabling companies to realize increased profits due to defect reduction and productivity improvements.

As an adjunct facility member for Syracuse University, Whitman School of Management's online Six Sigma program, Lori mentors students from a variety of  industries.  Over the past eight (8) years, employees from over 30 companies have been through the course and have saved a combined total of $11.5 million.

Lori holds a Bachelor of Science in Applied Science from Rochester Institute of Technology and she earned an Associate's Degree in Applied Science in Optical Engineering Technology from Monroe Community College. She is an American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certified Quality Engineer and a corporate-trained Certified Six Sigma Black Belt

Lori has over 25 years of management, engineering and leadership experience at Eastman Kodak Company.  

Since 2006 she has been president of Compass Quality Solutions, a Rochester, NY based consulting and training firm specializing in Quality Sytem Implementation and improvement.

Her involvement in the Rochester community includes:

·   Pro bono work for the Rochester City School District (PENCIL partner)

·   Pro bono work for  Rochester Counseling and Assessment Services (Incident Review Committee member)
